Rolling Through
Storm rolling through at 3:15 am on June 10th. The clouds rolled in from the northwest very quickly, and then the heavy rain started.
Clouds Above
Fluffy clouds, the remnants of a once-severe storm, float above my Tree-Across-the-Field.
Double, Double Toil and Trouble
I'm absolutely in love with the way the clouds seem to boil and bubble in the sky above, especially with the vibrant orange cast the sun was giving off at this time of evening!
Andover Tornado - April 29, 2022
The April 29, 2022 Andover Tornado as seen from roughly 20-30 miles south.
Storm Timelapse
A short and simple timelapse of the lightning dancing around the tree across the field.
Storm Beyond the Field
Lightning bolts dance in the sky, lightning up my Tree-Across-the-Field.
Skyfire
A bolt of lightning carves a line through the northern sky, lighting up the clouds and silhouetting the tree across the field, before ending below the horizon.
When Lightning Strikes Twice
Two bolts of lightning connect the heavens and earth as an electrically charged storm moves towards Winfield from the north.
Stormcloud on the Prairie
Heading back to Winfield from a quick run up to Wichita and all I could think about was the lovely storm clouds brewing to the south. Ended up stopping part-way back to capture this one off to the south east.
Lights in the Sky III
While out attempting to photograph the NEOWISE Comet I also took some shots at some (relatively) nearby lightning storms.
Lights in the Sky I
Country Road
This is where we stopped and tried to capture the NEOWISE comet, as well as get some lightning shots from the storms to the north and to the east. Don't let the photo fool you, most of the time it was VERY dark, except for the occasional flash of lightning or the flicker of lightning bugs.
Stormy Horizon
Looking north, towards some stormclouds on the Kansas plains.
