Captured Decay

As you probably know I've become a big fan of the semi-abstract shot of something in a state of decay. When I say the exhibit on trash collected from the Cahaba River I couldn't help myself.

Splintered

A screw splintering wood.

Temporal Decay

Something I had hoped to capture a lot of at the furnace was a sense of decay. An old, supposedly haunted industrial site seemed like the perfect place to capture it. Of all the decay shots I tried this is the only one I ended up keeping.

Corrosive Decay

When I first looked at this picture I immediately was reminded of the aesthetics surrounding NIN's Downward Spiral album and I fell in love with the shot. It's messy, it's abrasive, parts of it almost hurt to look at, and yet I still find it beautiful.
