Bursting Barbs
The lights of the carnival shot through a barbed-wire fence.
Wheel of Light
Another shot through my magnifying lens, this one of the "Rock-O-Plane" Ferris wheel.
Drops of Light and Water
Drops of water dot the window with the carnival lights shining through it.
The Lights are Melting
There's just something magical about the way light gets captured at f1.2. Even if you can't tell what exactly is going on the light looks like it's painted in, and at least for me, that's beautiful.
Prismatic Bokeh
If you couldn’t tell you were looking at a photograph of some 4th of July fireworks, I wouldn’t blame you. This shot was taken out of focus with the intention of capturing light and color over form.
Blending Together
Sadly the 7artisans 35mm lens isn't super sharp, but what it lacks in technical quality it more than makes up for in it's ability to blur almost everything in a really interesting and unique way.
Hopeful Helping Hands
Just north of the Auburn University campus there was a building with a mural painted on the wall.
Vortex
Macro shots of the inside of an RGB laden gaming PC.
Twilight Galaxy
Did they tell you, you should grow up, when you wanted to dream?
Black and Blue
A shot I took on the East Lansing Worldwide photowalk. I love the way the flowers just blend into the blown-out sky, creating a sense of motion.
The Watcher
Creepy, isn't it? I debated with my self whether or not going with black and white distorted it to much, but in the end I decided the surreal effect was worth it.
Touch The Light
The bokeh produced by the light reflecting of the river is almost always amazing. Today I got some shots with the bokeh as the background instead of the main subject.
Rippling Light
Some more abstract shots of the light and water at the lake.
Ordered Chaos
A simple macro shot of soap bubbles. I went with black and white to really bring out the intricate connecting lines.
Liquid Dreams
Being limited in potential subjects can be a real pain, or it can be a way to narrow your focus and force you to experiment and try new things. Now, I'm not claiming that soap bubble macro photography is anything new, but it's something I've never tried before, and now I'm glad I did.
Specks of Light and Water
This photograph was taken on a rainy October morning in Lansing, Michigan. Who doesn't love waiting for the bus in the rain?
Waking Dreams
Dreamy scene of weeds and grass in front of a small pond, which sparkles in the background.
A Painting of Life and Light
Went out to do some golden-hour shooting. I just wish I had left about 30 minutes earlier. I missed all the really good light in the right places. Oh well.
Flowering Dreams
A dreamy little macro shot of some very small flower buds.
Dream Wisps
Grasses flowing in the light of hte setting sun.
Sunburst
Lens flair for sure falls into the flaw category for lenes, and while I can't disagree with that, there's something I really like about how this particular shot turned out, flair and all. It actually ended up being my favorite of the evening.
